Outdoor Learning

Learning outdoors is far more than learning about the outdoors. A lesson learnt outside often impacts on a child in a very different way to the same lesson taught in a classroom.

In preparing our children for the future we need to nurture their understanding of natural resources and how much effort is required to sustain us in our food production and use of materials. Outdoor learning areas will nurture a generation that will respect nature and will help protect the environment for themselves and for their children in the future. At St Uny we have some amazing grounds with many discrete learning spaces, include a pond, a wildlife garden, poly tunnel, orchard, and our bees.

All children at St Uny benefit from regular lessons with our own outdoor learning leader, Mr Frost.
