St Uny C of E Academy has strong links with the parishes of St Anta and All Saints in Carbis Bay and St Uny in Lelant. The Benefice is currently in the recruitment process for a new priest in charge. Members of the local churches play a key role on our Christian Ethos Committee - a group that meets termly to support and further develop the impact of the school's Christian vision on pupils all round development and the well-being of all. Other church members help out with Open the Book collective worship and attend our prayer breakfasts every term. Messy Church services are another family-orientated opportunity for worship. Children and their families are invited into St Anta Church or the school hall for a creative morning based on a theme from the Bible. Great fun is had by all, and refreshments are offered. All are welcome!
We hold services at St Anta church for key festivals in the Christian calendar, such as harvest, Christmas and Easter. These services are led by children from all stages of the academy, who tell the stories and explain the significance of these events in the church year with drama, enthusiastic singing, Bible readings and prayer. Keep an eye on our newsletters and our website for upcoming dates of these services.
St Uny families are welcomed to Sunday services throughout the year. Foundation Stage children are invited to a welcome service in September; there is a beautiful and atmospheric Christingle service at the start of Advent; and we celebrate Mothering Sunday with a special service too.
St Uny C of E Academy also has strong links with Fore St Methodist Church in St Ives. Many of our families worship at Fore St, and Y6 visit there when they learn about John Wesley and the Methodists.
